I don't want to cast Prevention twice per pull as BP, because you lose Asmodeus buff and recasting buffs mid fight is very annoying. Taking out an enemy in 8 hits instead of 10 is sometimes better if they collectively hit slightly harder than your recovery mechanics can handle. I opted for more damage, a focus on defense on gear(plugs and NPC/Brown gear) till 90 set and a lower base health. STA makes you tanky, but it does not increase your recovery rate(not in a meaningful way in combat, anyway). I got extra INT mainly due not having to recast my buffs too often(Stone Hand, Asmodeus) and some extra damage. That is why I said an AoE RM is more forgiving: you can heal yourself easily on top of Prevention. As a BP, max Stone Hand and AoE slightly before the mobs will hit you so you will stun some. If they don't, you can probably stunlock a few and outheal the damage. If a pack, on the first collective hit, instantly pops your Prevention, then you have taken too many. The most dangerous part is the first collective hit you take from a pack of mobs. It is more stressful without a healer as BP. I just have to use Prevention and food(and pills) more often and be smart about it. I can already have someone fly next to me on a board while still tanking 10-15 mobs 3 levels higher.
